Michael Wilt is the Senior Manager of External Relations for the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation. He directs government and peer organization relations while supporting communications efforts. His more than decade of housing and land use policy expertise include representing a prominent industry organization, working in both chambers of the Texas Capitol and for former Mayor Gavin Newsom. He serves on the Board of multiple community-based nonprofits, holds a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, a B.A. in Government and Latin from the University of Texas at Austin, is an avid runner and proud father to his daughter Nova.

A Look Back on the Latest State and Local Housing Policy Innovations

State and local governments have been making the news in recent years; pushing legislation, new funding and other proposals to advance attainable housing production and preservation in their communities. This panel will bring together a few examples from around the country to discuss changes at the state and local levels, what has been successful and where challenges remain.
