Laurie is the national senior program director for resilience and disaster recovery initiatives at Enterprise Community Partners, a national nonprofit organization that brings together nationwide know-how, partners, policy leadership and investment to multiply the impact of local affordable housing development. She oversees Enterprise’s internal and external efforts to preserve and protect affordable housing across the nation from the risks and impacts of natural hazards and a changing climate. She is committed to building climate resilient housing across the nation by designing and promoting responsive technical assistance programs, progressive federal policy and developing strategic partnerships and alliances with key federal and local stakeholders. Her team assists CDCs, cities and states in a wide range of communities across the nation to develop housing that can sustain impacts of natural hazards and incorporate innovative resiliency ideas, technical assistance and advocacy support into post-event reconstruction of communities. She has launched programs and initiatives to support to help reduce risk to housing and communities in the following jurisdictions: Puerto Rico, USVI, Texas, New York, California and Florida. During her tenure at Enterprise she has developed leading edge guidance to support the resilience of affordable housing which has leveraged over $120 million of direct investment into the resilience of affordable housing.
