Kavindi is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring, negotiating and managing investments in Bain Capital Real Estate’s investment vehicles. Kavindi joined Bain Capital in February 2018 in conjunction with the spin out of Harvard Management Company’s (“HMC”) Real Estate team. Kavindi joined HMC in 2005 and while at HMC, Kavindi formed programmatic joint ventures focused on limited service hotels, seniors housing assets, designer outlet malls in China, and a joint venture that created and launched a boutique hotel brand targeting college towns throughout the U.S. Through these joint ventures Kavindi has led the acquisition and development of over $1.4 billion of investments and the disposition of over $1 billion of investments. Prior to joining HMC, Kavindi was a Project Manager in the Boston office of Bovis Lend Lease. She worked on the development of Ritz Carlton Towers, a large scale mixed use project in downtown Boston and on the development of a complex biotech asset, the Merck Pharmaceuticals Research and Development facility in the Fenway, Boston. Kavindi received a BS in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering from Drexel University (Magna Cum Laude). She holds an MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, is an Executive Committee member of the Zell Lurie Real Estate Center at the Wharton School and a Global Governing Trustees for the Urban Land Institute.
