Chrystal Kornegay’s passion for creating projects and programs that result in stronger communities for modest-income working families is evidenced throughout her 20-plus years’ experience in community development. In January 2015, Kornegay became the Baker Polito Administration’s undersecretary for housing and community development. Prior to that, she was Urban Edge’s president and chief executive officer. Her belief that service and partnership are keys to increased social equity led her to serve on numerous boards and advisory committees, including Citizen’s Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA) and the National Housing Trust.
